The price of a new HVAC system depends on the home: system size from a load calculation, system type, equipment tier, ductwork and electrical needs, access, permits and warranty package. We don't post cash prices because every home is different.
Why don't we post a price range for a new HVAC system?
We know that's the number you came here for, so let's be straight about why it isn't here.
A replacement price is built from the house. The size of the system, the type, the tier, the state of the ductwork, the electrical and gas connections, where the equipment sits and what your jurisdiction requires for permits all move it. A range wide enough to cover every home in Buford and Cumming would be too wide to help you. A range narrow enough to be useful would be wrong for most of the people reading it.
We'd rather show you what we do publish, then explain exactly what changes the replacement number so a quote makes sense when you see one. The prices we put in writing: a $79 diagnostic, a $49 seasonal tune-up when the promotion is active, the Southeast Family Plan at $149 a year for the first system and $109 for each additional system, and monthly payment examples for financed systems. The full replacement price comes from a free in-home estimate, and you'll have it in writing before you decide anything.
One more thing we won't do: work backward from a monthly payment example to a "typical" cash price. Payment examples depend on the financing program and credit approval. They aren't a price list in disguise.
What actually moves the price of a new HVAC system?
Here's the list our comfort consultants work from. Each one is something you can ask about on any quote, from us or anyone else.
• Load and size. Before anything else, the system has to be sized to the home. We do that with a Manual J load calculation, the industry method for measuring how much heating and cooling a house actually needs. Size sets the equipment capacity, and capacity moves the price.
• System type. A complete system (indoor and outdoor equipment together) is a bigger project than a heating-only or AC-only replacement. A heat pump, a furnace-and-AC split system and a ductless mini-split are different products at different price points.
• Equipment tier. This is the biggest lever you control. Single-stage systems carry a one-year Southeast labor warranty, two-stage systems a three-year warranty, and Daikin Fit variable-speed systems a five-year warranty. Moving up a tier generally means a higher price alongside more comfort features and longer coverage. Our guide to single-stage vs two-stage vs variable-speed explains what each tier does.
• Efficiency and matched equipment. Indoor and outdoor units are designed to work as a matched pair, and the specific models set the efficiency rating. We name the actual models and the matched-system efficiency in the proposal rather than quoting a generic number.
• Number of systems and zones. A two-system home is two projects. Zoning adds controls and dampers.
• Access. Attic, crawlspace, closet or basement changes the labor involved in getting the old equipment out and the new equipment in.
• Connections and code items. Electrical disconnect, breaker and wiring, the pad or stand, condensate drain and pump, flue and venting, gas line, whether the refrigerant line set can be reused or must be replaced, thermostat and controls, duct transitions and plenums, filtration and any code upgrades the jurisdiction requires. Most homes need a few of these, not all of them.
• Permits and inspections. Southeast pulls the required permits, and the permit cost is included in the quoted installation price. Which permits apply depends on where the home is.
Two things are already in every replacement quote, not added later: removal and disposal of the old equipment, and standard startup and commissioning of the new one.
What should you watch for when comparing quotes?
The most common mistake is comparing totals without comparing what's behind them. A few things to check on every proposal:
• Was the system sized, or matched to the old one? If nobody measured the house, the size is a guess, and a guess is expensive when it's wrong.
• Is the permit in the price? A quote that leaves it out isn't comparable to one that includes it.
• Are the exact models named? "High-efficiency system" isn't a model number. You should be able to see what you're buying.
• What's the labor warranty, separate from the parts warranty? They come from different companies and cover different things. Ask for both in writing.
• Was the ductwork looked at? New equipment attached to ducts that can't move the air it needs won't perform like the brochure. We never quote ductwork without an inspection.
• Is the lowest bid leaving something out? We don't promise to be the least expensive option. We do promise the quote spells out exactly what's included.
How does a Southeast replacement estimate work?
The estimate is free, it happens at your home, and it ends with numbers in writing.
1. Evaluation. A comfort consultant looks at the existing system, the ductwork, the electrical and gas connections and the access, and asks what's been bothering you about comfort.
2. Load calculation. We run the Manual J so the size comes from the house.
3. Options in writing. Single-stage, two-stage and Daikin Fit where they fit, each with named equipment, matched efficiency, the labor warranty and the price. Daikin is our primary brand, and every new Daikin system we install uses R-32 refrigerant. You can compare the lines on our Daikin central systems and Daikin Fit pages.
4. Financing. If you want a monthly payment instead of a lump sum, we walk through the Service Finance options at the same visit.
5. Permit, installation, startup. We pull the permit, install, and commission the system so it runs the way it was designed to. Removal and disposal are included.
6. Registration and follow-up. We register the manufacturer warranty for you. If a problem is caused by our workmanship, Southeast will return and correct it at no charge.
If your ductwork needs attention, that's a separate ductwork evaluation with its own proposal after inspection. We don't fold a ductwork guess into a system quote.
What can the monthly payment look like?
If you'd rather pay monthly than all at once, here are the approved examples, as of September 2026. Through Service Finance, with credit approval, a heating system starts from $59 a month, an air-conditioning system from $69 a month and a complete HVAC system from $99 a month. Current programs include 18 months at 0% interest, 12 months with no payments and no interest, and 180-month terms at 9.99%. Every one of these requires credit approval; see financing terms for the details. Service Finance is our only financing provider.
A few more pricing facts worth knowing: we currently offer up to $1,000 off a new system (some restrictions may apply; see our promotions page), we accept all common forms of payment, and there's no credit-card processing fee. After the install, the Southeast Family Plan keeps the new system maintained with two visits a year, standard 1-inch pleated filter changes, coil and drain cleaning and 15% off qualifying repairs.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a new HVAC system cost?
It depends on the home, system size, installation conditions, efficiency/staging, duct and electrical needs, and selected warranty. Southeast provides a free replacement estimate and can show ballpark monthly-payment options.
Do you offer HVAC financing?
Yes. Southeast offers Service Finance options including approved promotional programs and payment examples as low as $59/month for heating, $69/month for AC, or $99/month for a complete system, subject to credit approval and current terms.
Are permits included?
Southeast pulls required replacement permits, and the necessary permit cost is included in the quoted installation price.
Does a Daikin Fit cost more than a single-stage system?
Generally, yes. Moving from single-stage to two-stage to Daikin Fit means a higher upfront price along with more comfort features and a longer Southeast labor warranty (one, three and five years). We don't publish cash prices, but the free estimate shows the tiers side by side with the exact equipment and price for your home.
Is the free replacement estimate really free?
Yes. It's an in-home evaluation for replacement, at no charge and with no obligation. If your system is broken and you need someone to find out why, that's a separate $79 diagnostic visit.
Can I get a ballpark over the phone?
We can explain the variables and the monthly payment examples over the phone, but an honest total needs a look at the home: the load, the ductwork, the electrical and the access. That's why the in-home estimate is free.
